Supporting Kids • Honoring Veterans • Building Brighter Tomorrows
WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER CHARITY HELPING CHILDREN, TEENS, VETERANS, CAREGIVERS & FAMILIES.
We help children and teens facing abuse, abandonment, severe illness, disabilities, human trafficking, and other
overwhelming circumstances.
We assist veterans, their caregivers, and their families by listening to their needs, advocating when appropriate, and connecting them with people, organizations, services, and resources that may be able to help.
Caring for Youth Facing Overwhelming Circumstances
Got Kids was created to help children and teens facing some of life's most difficult circumstances. Our volunteers work to bring encouragement, resources, advocacy, community connections, and practical assistance to young people and families who need support.
Abused & Abandoned Youth
Supporting children and teens experiencing abuse, abandonment, instability, or other serious hardships.
Children & Teens With Serious Illnesses or Disabilities
Helping connect children, teens, and their families with resources, support, and community assistance.
Human Trafficking Survivors
Supporting children and teens coming out of human trafficking by helping connect them with appropriate resources, organizations, and assistance.
Bullying Prevention & Youth Encouragement
Our S.W.I.G. — Seeing Winners Inspires Greatness — was created to encourage young people, address bullying, and help students recognize the best in themselves and those around them. Older program materials also describe S.W.I.G. as the “Program to End Bullying.”
Schools & Community Outreach
Providing educational outreach, speakers, seminars, awareness programs, and opportunities to encourage children and strengthen communities.
Toys, Shops, & Children's Project
Got Kids has a history of collecting donated toys, games, dolls, collectibles, and stuffed animals to clean, repair, restore, and repurpose for charitable projects. Antiques, collectibles, and repurposed stuffed animals may also support ongoing toy needs.
Cards for Kids
Creating handmade cards and encouraging messages for children.
Memorable Treasures
Giving donated and restored toys, games, stuffed animals, and collectibles another opportunity to create happy memories.
Community Partnerships
Working with other charities, organizations, volunteers, and community partners when collaboration can help accomplish more.
Our volunteers are here to support veterans, their caregivers, and their families to the best of our abilities. We listen to their needs and work to connect them with people, organizations, services, advocates, and resources that may be able to help.
Veteran Transportation
We work to address transportation needs for veterans, including the goal of obtaining reliable used vehicles that can help veterans with transportation, mobility, and independence.
Recreation & Quality of Life
Veterans deserve opportunities to enjoy life. We want to help veterans take time away from everyday challenges and enjoy experiences such as sporting events, concerts, community activities, and other meaningful outings.
Building a More Meaningful Life
We encourage veterans to discover activities, relationships, opportunities, and goals that can bring greater meaning, purpose, connection, and enjoyment to their lives.
Veterans Benefits Advocacy
We assist veterans with advocacy related to veteran benefits and help connect veterans and their families with appropriate organizations, resources, advocates, and services.
Caregiver & Family Support
When we help a veteran, we also recognize the caregivers and family members standing beside them. We work to connect caregivers and families with assistance and resources when needs arise.
Connecting Veterans With Resources
Sometimes helping doesn't mean providing the service ourselves. It means finding the right person, organization, agency, nonprofit, advocate, or resource and helping make that connection.
Veterans • Caregivers • Families
Resource Navigation
Helping people identify and connect with appropriate community resources, organizations, programs, and services.
Advocacy
Helping children, families, veterans, and caregivers communicate needs and seek appropriate assistance.
Community Partnerships
Working with organizations, charities, volunteers, community leaders, and other partners to address needs that may be larger than any one organization can handle alone.
Outreach & Awareness
Bringing awareness to issues affecting children, teens, veterans, caregivers, and families.
Direct Assistance When Possible
When resources and circumstances allow, our volunteers work to provide practical assistance directly.
Connecting People Who Can Help
We don't have to provide every service ourselves to make a difference. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is connect someone in need with someone who can help.
Got Kids and Got Vets is an all-volunteer charitable organization committed to helping children, teens, veterans, caregivers, and families navigate difficult circumstances.
What began with a mission to serve children has grown to include support for veterans and the people who care for them.
Our approach is simple:
Listen to the need.
Look for solutions.
Connect people with resources.
Advocate when appropriate.
Help wherever we can.
We believe stronger communities are created when people and organizations work together.
There are many ways to become part of our mission.
